Mr. Majumdar graduated in Science from Calcutta University and started his career as a Technical Assistant in the Patent Department of a reputed Patent Law Firm. He went on to accomplish his degree in law. He is a Regd. Patent Agent. He is a leading member of the legal team and handles litigations in all branches of IPR. He has to his merit several successful passing off and other critical IPR Court cases. He has several publications to his credit. Amongst his other activities - he is vibrantly supporting the cause of awarness of IPR in India in Universities, Government and Private Labs and Corporates and also the Indian Patent Office. He also specialises in licensing in different IPR related matters. He has been attending workshops and seminars as faculties on Patents, copyrights, Trademark and other IPR related issues.

C. R. Mitra

Mr. Mitra held the position of Asst. Controller in the Indian Patent Office for several years and thereafter qualified and presently practicing as a Patent Agent. Mr. Mitra attends to prosecution of patent applications and also interviewing the Examiners and Controllers and interacting with the Patent Office officials for different cases.

Nilratan Seth

Mr. Seth is Textile Engineer and a Patent Agent. He has an industrial experience of four years. He worked in The Patent Office for 32 years in different capacities, starting from Examiner and retired as Joint Controller Of Patents & Designs.

Dr. Ganguli did her PhD in Zoology from the University of Calcutta after completing her M.Sc. from the same University and in the same field. Her area of specialization being Endocrinology. Her responsibilities in the firm include drafting , prosecution and oppositions of patents.

Abhishek Sen

Mr. Abhishek Sen is B.Tech in Electric Engineering. He is a Regd. Patent Agent. Prior to joining the firm he has undergone training from CESC Ltd. and from Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics.

Saloni Rastogi

Ms Saloni Rastogi is a pharmacy graduate from SNDT University in Mumbai and a Law graduate from Mumbai University. She is also a registered Patent Agent. Before joining the firm, she was associated with the leading pharma company Wockhardt Ltd. as Executive - IPR for more than one and a half years. After extensive training she qualified as a registered patent agent. Her responsibilities include patent searches, patent drafting, patentability and infringement opinion, oppositions particularly those relating to the pharmaceutical industry. She is currently in charge of client coordination (Mumbai) as well.

Mythili Venkatesh

Ms. Mythili Venkatesh is a Post-Graduate (Organic Chemistry). Before joining the firm she was associated with the leading pharmaceutical company Nicholas Piramal India Ltd. as Junior Manager (synthetic) Department for a period of one and a half years. She was also associated with another pharma major Cipla Ltd. as R & D chemist (bulk drugs) for about two years. She also has a prior teaching experience at SIES College and Vidyasagar Classes. Her specialities include patent searches, patent drafting, patentability and infringement opinion and other technical aspects associated with patenting. She is also involved in opposition and other invalidity proceedings. Currently she is in charge of technical affairs (Chemical Technology) in the Mumbai branch.

Arunava Mukerjee

Mr. Arunava Mukherjee completed his B Com from the University of Burdwan and LLB from the University of Calcutta. He exclusively handles trademark prosecutions and prosecution related hearings and proceedings.

Soumya Sen

Mr. Soumya Sen is a lawyer who has litigation experience for over eight years and is responsible for trademark and copyright litigations. Mr. Sen also handles criminal actions in case of trademark counterfeits and infringements. Further he is also involved in proceedings before the Appellate Authority Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB).

A K Chakrabarty

Mr. A K Chakrabarty completed his Masters in Science in Agriculture in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry from the Institute of Agriculture, University of Calcutta, where he was placed first in the first class in order of merit and prosecuted research in Seed Technology for four years under an eminent scientist at Seed Research Laboratory, University of Calcutta. Then he joined the Bar as an Advocate and has joined the firm with about 14 years experience in Civil litigations. Mr. Chakrabarty is in charge of trademark opposition section.

Pulak Neogi

Mr. Pulak Neogy is a Registered Patent and Trademark Agent. He is in charge of all matters relating to designs and also attends to contested matters before the Designs Office. Mr. Neogy also handles matters relating to transfer of rights such as assignments in trademarks and designs. He also handles copyright issues.

Ms. Mriganki Dutta holds a Masters degree in Microbiology from North Maharastra University, Jalgaon, Maharastra. She has also completed PG Diploma in Bio-informatics from I.I.S.W.B.M., Kolkata. She is part of the prosecution and opposition team.

Sultana Shaikh

Sultana Shaikh is a pharmacy graduate. She completed a post-graduate Diploma in Intellectual property rights from Mumbai University. She has also completed Distance Learning Course On Patents offered by WIPO. She was earlier associated with the pharma Industry such as Unichem Industries, Simrone Pharmaceuticals and Spryance India Pvt Ltd for about 5 years.

Suhrita Majumdar

Ms Majumdar completed her masters in Law in IPR from the University of Manchester and also interned with a British Firm before joining the practice. Her core area of work is Trademarks Prosecution and Oppositions besides dealing in Copyright and Domain dispute issues.

Vilas Shetty

Mr. Vilas Shetty joined the firm as a trainee. Before joining the firm he completed his Masters in Organic Chemistry from Mumbai University. He also successfully completed PG diploma in Patent Law & Practice from GNA, Gurukul, Mumbai and also the Distance Learning course (DL-101) on Patents, offered by World Intellectual Property Organization. Before joining the firm he was associated with RPG LIFESCIENCES Ltd, as R&D Executive (bulk drugs). His responsibilities include patent searches, patentability and infringement opinion, oppositions and other invalidity proceedings particularly those relating to the pharmaceutical industry.

Dominic Alvares

Mr. Dominic Alvares graduated in Science with Microbiology and Biochemistry as his major subjects, from the University of Mumbai, with a first class, following which he completed his Masters in Biochemistry from the same University, also with a first class. He is currently pursuing his LL.B. He was an online faculty in Cell Biology to students in the U.S., at CompSoft India (B.P.O.), prior to joining S. Majumdar & Co.

Ms. Shipra Sinha is a trainee under the Women Scientist Scholarship Scheme, TIFAC, conducted by Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. She did her graduation in Biotechnology from Ranchi Women’s College and then did her Masters in Biochemistry from Allahabad Agricultural Institute. She has worked as a Research Intern from Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CSIR Lab). She also has a publication on "Rhizosphere soil microbial index of tree species in a coal mining ecosystem".
