Mr. Majumdar gratuated in Science from Calcutta University and started his career as a Technical Assistant in the Patent Department of a reputed Patent Law Firm. He went on to accomplish his degree in law. He is a Regd. Patent Agent. Besides being trained in the Patent Department he also received training under a Senior Civil lawyer for three years and is mainly involved in contested proceedings in the Patent and Trademark Office and also in various courts. Having handled litigations in all the branches of IPR he has a fair amount of exposure to the intricacies in IPR related issues. He has to his merit several successful passing off and other critical IPR Court cases. He has several publications to his credit. Amongst his other activities - he is vibrantly supporting the cause of awarness of IPR in India in Universities, Government and Private Labs and Corporates and also the Indian Patent Office. He also specialises in licensing in different IPR related matters. He has been attending workshops and seminars as faculties on Patents, copyrights, Trademark and other IPR related issues.

Mr. C. R. Mitra

Mr. Mitra held the position of Asst. Controller in the Indian Patent Office for several years and thereafter qualified and presently practicing as a Patent Agent. Mr. Mitra attends to prosecution of patent applications and also interviewing the Examiners and Controllers and interacting with the Patent Office officials for different cases.

Mr. Nilratan Seth

Mr. Seth Is An In-House Consultant In An Exclusive Capacity. He has an industrial experience of four years. He worked in The Patent Office for 32 years in different capacities, starting from Examiner and retired as Joint Controller Of Patents & Designs.

Dr. Sanchita Ganguli

Dr. Ganguli did her PhD in Zoology from the University of Calcutta after completing her M.Sc. from the same University and in the same field. Her area of specialization being Endocrinology. Her responsibilities in the firm include drafting and prosecution of patents.

Mr. Abhishek Sen

Mr. Abhishek Sen is B.Tech in Electric Engineering. He is a Regd. Patent Agent. Having undergone training from CESC Ltd. and from Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics he has joined S. Majumdar & Co. as a patent attorney.

Ms. Poonam Kolhe

Mrs. Poonam Kolhe is a pharmacy graduate and LLB from the University of PUNE. She is a registered patent agent. In the early stages of each career she completed the WIPO Distance Learning course on Patents. Prior to joining the firm as a Patent Attorney, she was associated with another leading Patent Attorney firm. She has a rich and varied experience in the pharma industry o like Elbon Formulations, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Aarti Formulations and Noble Drugs for more than 6 years. She leads the patent search team. She is also involved with patentability and infringement assessment team as a member and also guids the matters handling patent formalities work.

Ms. Saloni Rastogi

Ms Saloni Rastogi is a pharmacy graduate from SNDT University in Mumbai and a Law graduate from Mumbai University. She is also a registered Patent Agent. Before joining the firm as a Patent Engineer, she was associated with the leading pharma company Wockhardt Ltd. as Executive - IPR for more than one and a half years. After extensive training she qualified as a registered patent agent. Her responsibilities include patent searches, patent drafting, patentability and infringement opinion, oppositions particularly those relating to the pharmaceutical industry. She is currently in charge of client coordination as well.

Ms. Mythili Venkatesh
(Master in Science- Organic Chemistry)
Ms. Mythili Venkatesh joined the firm as a trainee, under the Woman Scientist Scholar, TIFAC conducted by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. She has successfully completed the training and was absorbed by the firm. She is a Post-Graduate (Organic Chemistry). Before joining the firm she was associated with the leading pharmaceutical company Nicholas Piramal India Ltd. as Junior Manager (synthetic) Department for a period of one and a half years. She was also associated with another pharma major Cipla Ltd. as R & D chemist (bulk drugs) for about two years. She also has a prior teaching experience at SIES College and Vidyasagar Classes. Her specialities include patent searches, patent drafting, patentability and infringement opinion and other technical aspects associated with patenting. She is also involved in opposition and other invalidity proceedings. Currently she is in charge of technical affair (Chemical Technology).

Mr. Arunava Mukerjee

Mr. Arunava Mukherjee completed his B Com from the University of Burdwan and LLB from the University of Calcutta. He has joined S Majumdar & Co. exclusively handles trademark prosecutions and prosecution related hearings and proceedings.

Mr. Soumya Sen
(B Com, LLB)
Mr. Soumya Sen is a lawyer who has litigation experience for over six years and is responsible for trademark and copyright litigations. Mr. Sen also handles criminal actions in case of trademark counterfeits and infringements. Further he is also involved in proceedings before the Appellate Authority Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB).

Mr. A K Chakrabarty
(M Sc (Gold), LLB, Registered Patent Agent, Advocate)
Mr. A K Chakrabarty completed his Masters in Science in Agriculture in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry from the Institute of Agriculture, University of Calcutta, where he was placed first in the first class in order of merit and prosecuted research in Seed Technology for four years under an eminent scientist at Seed Research Laboratory, University of Calcutta. Then he joined the Bar as an Advocate and has joined the firm with about 14 years experience in several litigations. Mr. Chakrabarty is in charge of trademark opposition section.

Mr.S K Pattanaik

Mr. S K Pattanaik is a lawyer and worked in the PTO units trademark department for about three years as an Examiner. Mr. Pattanaik is in charge of all matters before the Mumbai Registry and also attends to hearing in the Mumbai and other Branches of the PTO and also before the Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB)

Mr. Pulak Neogi

Mr. Pulak Neogy is a Registered Patent and Trademark Agent. He is in charge of all matters relating to designs and also attends to contested matters before the Design Office. Mr. Neogy also handles matters relating to transfer of rights such as assignments in trademarks and designs. He also handles trademark oppositions and procedural matters of copyright applications.

Mr. Koushik Banerjee

Mr. Koushik Banerjee graduated from the University of Calcutta with First Class and is now pursuing the post graduate diploma course in Intellectual Property Rights under the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He has litigation experience of four years and is presently in the litigation wing dealing with all IPR cases and issues.

Ms. Mriganki Dutta

Ms. Mriganki Dutta joined S. Majumdar & Co. as a trainee, under Women Scientist Scholarship Scheme, TIFAC, conducted by Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. She has successfully completed her M.Sc in Microbiology from North Maharastra University, Jalgaon, Maharastra. She has also completed PG Diploma in Bio-informatics from I.I.S.W.B.M., Kolkata. Presently she is pursuing 1 year PGDIPRL from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Currently she is part of the technical team.

Ms. Sultana Shaikh

Sultana Shaikh is a pharmacy graduate. She has joined the firm as patent Engineer. In her early days she completed a post-graduate Diploma in Intellectual property rights from Mumbai University. She has also completed Distance Learning Course On Patents offered by WIPO. She was earlier associated with the pharma Industry such as Unichem Industries, Simrone Pharmaceuticals and Spryance India Pvt Ltd for about 5 years.

Mr. Shayak Datta

Mr. Shayak Datta completed his BSL, LLB, which is a five year integrated law course from Symbiosis Societies Law College Pune. Before joining S. Majumdar & Co. as a Trademark Attorney Mr.Datta worked as a Legal Assistant in Intrasoft Technologies Private Limited and thereafter in R.Ginodia & Co as an advocate.

Ms. Suhrita Majumdar

Ms Majumdar completed her masters from the University of Manchester and also interned with a British Firm before joining the practice. Her core area of work is Trademarks Prosecution and Oppositions besides dealing in Copyright and Domain dispute issues.
